Ingredients:
1) 1 cup basmati rice (Any variety rice will suffice)
2) ¼ tsp mustard seeds, cumin seeds
3) ¼ tsp asafoetida
4) ½ tsp turmeric powder
5) 1 tsp red chilli powder
6) 1 tbsp MAHA GODA masala
7) 2 tbsp ghee/oil
8) ½ tsp jaggery
9) Curry leaves
10) Salt and water as required
11) ¼ cup fresh scraped coconut
12) Coriander leaves to garnish
Process:
1) Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it for 10 mins.
2) Heat ghee/oil in a pressure pan
3) Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and turmeric powder and curry leaves.
4) Then add in the soaked rice and sauté for few minutes.
5) Then add red chilli powder, MAHA GODA Masala and salt. Mix it well.
6) Now add water, jaggery and some scraped coconut. Bring it to boil.
7) Put the lid on and pressure cook the rice. (3-4 whistles)
8) Serve hot and garnish the dish with scraped coconut and coriander leaves.
