Ingredients:
- Thaleepith bhajani
- 2 medium chopped onions
- Green chillies chopped as required
- Salt to taste
- Chopped coriander
- Oil for roasting
- Water as required
- 1 tsp oil
Process:
- In a bowl mix thaleepith bhajani, chopped onions, green chillies, salt and coriander.
- Add 1 tsp oil and mix well.
- Start adding water in parts to make soft, smooth and moist dough.
- On a little wet plastic sheet, take a portion from the dough and with greased hands pat the dough gently to form a circle. (medium thickness)
- Make 4-5 holes in the centre, which will help the thaleepith in frying well.
- Spread a little bit of oil on a hot tawa with the help of a brush.
- Lift the plastic sheet and carefully place the thaleepith on the tawa and peel off the plastic sheet leaving the thaleepith on the tawa. (ATTENTION- Make sure the plastic sheet does NOT touch the hot tawa).
- Sprinkle some oil everywhere evenly and cover with a lid and let it cook till the base turns nice, crispy and golden brown in colour. Cook on low-medium flame. Never cook thaleepith on a high flame.
- Flip the thaleepith and do the same for the other side.
- Remove the thaleepith from the tawa and serve hot with curd or Indian white butter. It even goes well with chilli pickle.
