Masale bhaat –
Ingredients-
- 1 cup basmati rice (Any variety rice will suffice)
- ¼ tsp mustard seeds, cumin seeds
- ¼ tsp asafoetida, turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli podwer
- 1 tbsp MAHAGODA masala
- 2 tbsp ghee/oil
- ½ tsp jaggery
- Curry leaves
- Salt and water as required
- ¼ cup fresh scraped coconut
- Coriander leaves to garnish
Process-
- Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it for 10 mins.
- Heat ghee/oil in a pressure pan
- Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and turmeric powder and curry leaves.
- Then add in the soaked rice and sauté for few minutes.
- Then add red chilli powder, goda masala and salt. Mix it well.
- Now add water, jaggery and some scraped coconut. Bring it to boil.
- Put the lid on and pressure cook the rice. (3-4 whistles)
- Serve hot and garnish the dish with scraped coconut and coriander leaves.
